Xi’an night life

Xi’an is a pretty town at night. The city wall is lighted and even on a drizzly evening it was striking.

Then off to the Shaanxi Grand Opera House for a performance of music and dances that were from the Tang Dynasty. Like the women in paintings by Ruebens, it was popular during the Tang Dynasty to be round and show cleavage. Boy, I was born during the wrong time. The costumes were beautiful.

We didn’t have the greatest seats because we just came for the show and the majority of the audience had dinner theater tickets. Watching the waiters and waitresses carry towering dishes wasn’t part of the show, but entertaining.
